Manatees Trainer

Are you passionate about working with marine mammals? Do you dream of training adorable manatees while inspiring and educating visitors with unforgettable experiences? This is your chance to be part of something amazing at Pairi Daiza!


We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic manatees Trainers to join our team. If you have at least 3 years of experience in animal training, medical training and care, especially with marine mammal species, we want to hear from you!


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Train & Enrich – Develop training programs for our manatees, enhancing their natural behaviors.

  • Care & Nurture – Oversee daily feeding, health checks, and habitat maintenance to ensure our animals thrive. Assist with routine veterinary husbandry procedures as needed. Observe animal behavior and report any unusual/abnormal behavior to supervisor. Maintain feeding, behavior and training records.

  • Engage & Educate – Interact with guests through live demonstrations and immersive experiences. Inspiring conservation awareness.

  • Collaborate & Innovate – Work with veterinarians and fellow trainers to provide the highest standards of animal welfare.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of paid animal care/management experience at an EAZA accredited or equivalent facility

  • Strong knowledge of behavioral training techniques and animal enrichment.

  • Excellent swim capability and diving certificate at least 2° level is a plus.

  • Ability to work standing up for extended periods of time

  • Able to lift weights of 25 KG

  • Proven ability to positively interact within a team environment

  • Demonstrated strong organizational, problem solving and both oral and written communication skills

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, ZIMS).

  • Able to speak French and English, extra languages are a plus

  • Able to work weekends and holidays
