Master of Aquatic Animal Medicine

The Master of Aquatic Animal Medicine is a pioneering 18-month graduate program designed for veterinarians seeking specialized training in the health, care, and conservation of marine and aquatic species. Delivered in collaboration with Oceanogràfic, Europe’s largest aquarium, this program blends academic excellence with hands-on experience to shape the next generation of aquatic animal health experts.


What You'll Learn
The Aquatic Animal Medicine program offers a robust curriculum through four core modules, practicum training, and thesis research:

  • Conservation Medicine & Research
    Learn ecosystem health, emerging diseases, and research methodologies.

  • Marine Mammals
    Study clinical care, rehabilitation, and pathology of whales, dolphins, pinnipeds, and manatees.

  • Aquatic Birds, Reptiles & Turtles
    Gain insights into the care and rescue of sea turtles, aquatic birds, and reptiles.

  • Fish & Invertebrates
    Explore aquatic diagnostics, aquaculture, and fish/invertebrate medicine.

  • Master's Thesis and Practicum
    Conduct original research and hands on training on a topic of your choice with the guidance of international experts.
