Veterinarian | Acquario di Genova
Aquarium of Genoa is one of the most important aquarium facilities in Europe and it’s looking for a veterinarian that can fix our team for the health management of housed animals.
Main responsibilities:
Monitoring the health status of animals housed at the facility (fish, reptiles, amphibians, marine mammals, invertebrates, native and exotic birds);
Planning and execution of clinical examinations, therapeutic treatments, and prophylaxis protocols;
Collaboration with zoological team to ensure animal welfare;
Management of veterinary emergencies and preventive health plans;
Participation in conservation and scientific research programs;
Compiling and updating health records.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Degree in veterinary medicine and license to practice in Italy
Experience: in prior experience of at least 2 years in health management of exotic wildlife, preferably aquatic. Knowledge of pathology, anesthesia and medicine in the zoological environment. Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and in complex operational settings Good knowledge of english language (written and spoken)
Preference will be given:
Experience at aquariums, zoos or wildlife rescue centers
Participation in ex situ or in situ conservation projects
Marine animal management skills
